what is a good diff ratio for a vs. It is curently standard ratio lsd, i want it to be quick off the line but i have to also use the car as a everyday car. i have to get my diff rebuilt soon because the lsd is only spining one wheel, so i think it just needs new clutch's put in it. so i thought it would be the perfect time to change my diff gears.

Around town & with a bit of freeway you can't go past 3.7s

If you never see over 80km/h then the 3.9s would be better.

Cheers,

Mick

I think that utes and V6 commodore S' got a 3.27:1 ratio rear end. If so the gears are easy to come by as a lot of Falcons had this gearing. It also means that the correct speedo drive gears should be available new from Holden to suit the 3.27:1 rear end.

They were all 3.08:1 standard, but there were some HSV models with 3.23:1, 3.45:1, and a 3.7:1

Being a BW78 series diff, means there's a huge range of gears available from 2.72:1 all the way up to 4.11:1

Locally assembled pintaras had either the 3.9

Mick

a lot of people run 3.55 diffs but i want to be one step ahead, so im thinking of going for 3.75 or 3.82, which should give me more pull off the line
