Professors
i have just got my car back from a service and found out i need a new steering rack and tie rod ends. I would like to get some power steering so my girl can drive me back from late night outings occasionally. Is the normal steering rack the same as the power steering rack? would this be a good time to find a secondhand power steering unit a put that in? Has anyone done this before? how did it work out? was it a waste of time and money?
cheers
Rohan

What kind of shops do you find reconditioned steering racks? Im planning to put a much better engine in the future. Will this mean if i put PAS in now it could be a waste of money because i will need to get different parts for PAS for the the new engine

I always seem to forget that they change the front xmember in the VB-VL to suit the VN V6 onward rack...............Thanks for correcting me Grob:) If you go V8 isn't the original Xmember used.

There are various changes to the front crossmember & most of them involve the rack mounts. For instance the VB, VC & early VH crossmember is different between power steer & non power steer. For late VH & VK the same crossmember is used for 6 & |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |
