Hi,
I have what I beleive to be a fully optioned WB panel van. I would like to verfiy this somehow but after ringing Holden just then I dont think it will be possible. They said they only keep records for approx the last 10 years giving vehicle information such as option codes. They also said that they can do an authenticity check but only for Monaros/Sandmans etc in the 70s. The guy said definately not WB.

Does anyone know if there is any other way to find out information, whether it be locating the original dealer and seeing if they have records etc. All the information on the tag matches up but would like to find out more.

Any ideas greatly appreciated!
Rhys

Hi Rhys.

The best thing is to post all your numbers,i.e. Chassis, Engine, Body Plate Details, VIN Plate details & Compliance Plate details. From that we can tell what your car should be.

It this of course, depends on what you mean by the term fully

Agree with Dr Terry. A 'fully' optioned WB panel van in my 'way of thinking' would be:

HOLDEN (nee Belmont), 308, M38/M40, power steer, air, GTS dash, buckets, alloy wheels (N67 aka HZ SL/E, late HZ GTS, Sandman etc), intermittent wipers, metallic pain

Fully optioned alright. About the only thing missing is a 308, which was not officially a normal option but I have seen WBs with a factory 308 and metallic paint (which may not have been available on a Belmont). Its a 253 trimatic with 3.55 as you say. Th

Can't read as a TH400 (M41) as no WB was ever fitted with one. If it's a pre 1982 and 308 it will read M38 (TH350). Lter examples will be M40 (trimatic).

^^ While on the same topic Rhys, theres a Tahitian WB 1-tonner near my place. Again, the right code is on the tag & all.

It caught my attention as it is a VH Commodore colour (particularly SL/Es & Shadowtone cars).

Cheers,

Mick
