I HAVE A XC V8 MATCHING NUMBER 4 DOOR SEDAN WITH A GS DASH,GS FUEL CAP EXTRA LEAF SPRINGS WITH A PLATE ON THE RADIATOR SUPPORT PANEL SAYING RALLY PACK.I CHECKED THE ENGINE CODE IT'S ONLY A 302.IT IS THE SQUARE HEADLIGHT MODEL.IT'S PRETTY BEAT UP.IT DOES HAVE WHEEL ARCH TRIMS ON SOME OF IT.I WAS WANDERING HOW YOU CAN VERIFY IF IT IS A GS OR NOT?.THE PREVIOUS OWNERS SAY IT IS.BUT I WOULD NOT SPEND A DOLLAR ON IT IF IT'S NOT AS IT NEEDS SERIOUS WORK.
ANY HELP WOLD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

GS was available across the range and many were 302s. The rally pack plate means it is a GS. If it has square headlights then it would be a Fairmont. So virtually a GXL without the badges.

It's hard to say if it's a factory GS. The fact that your car still has a plate saying rally pak is a surprise in itself. If you want to know what the car is worth check out trading post and see what they are selling for there. XAs and XBs are comandin

G'day Stu
you didn't say what colour, trans type or what the body prefix is ie JG23,JG32,JG34.
most rally packs would have twin headlight grill!
I also belive that factory rally packs have the small i.d tag on the front crossmember below the rad suppor

Stu,
I'd whack an 8 in myself. If you're going to have "show" might as well have a bit of "go". You can always keep 6 and it's bits in a corner of the shed should you want to return it to original one day.

You might have to change the tacho in t

Tacho wire for example.
All the wiring under the dash should be fine, just

Sounds like a nice car anyway. JG40 is falcon ute. E is 250 high compression motor. N is three on the tree. Was the car registered as a V8 when you got it? Is there much wrong with it? The XC utes look excellent done up. Used to be a gun metal gre
