Help required in identifying a HJ coupe as it does not have I.D. Plates.
Body No: 47109S Chassis No: BHJ48416S
I have recently purchased a HJ coupe rolling shell with doors and seats, I believe it’s a genuine GTS but cannot confirm this as the ID plates are missing. It is an original Jamaica Lime colour with blackouts on the bottom of the doors (Not Repainted) and Black (Red Back) GTS seats. It has the trans tunnel cut out for a floor shift T Bar / 4 sp ? Does any one have GMH microfilm that can help me identify this car?
Good News is Vic Roads have put in print that I have sufficient body identification and will allow this car to be re registered.
Any Ideas as to the value of this car?
Any help is much appreciated
Regards Rockett

The micro film that you refer to ius referenced to engine and VIN number.
As you have no VIN and cannot be 100% sure the engine is original there is no use in the micro film for this car.
Coupe bodies are pulling good money these days, depends on wh

You are best off waiting for a rusted out/wrecked HJ or HX coupe to turn up and replace it's rusty body shell with your shell. Otherwise do it up as a street car with Chev etc. I may be able to find out for you if it was a GTS or LS off the microfiche by |

If that is the original unmolested paint work on it I would say 99% sure it was a GTS. They only had GTS and LS coupes in the HJ, if it had of been an LS it would have most likely had holes in the rear pillar for the Premier badges and pins along the sill |

Rockett, it's a 2/76 build. Does it have a TH400 speedo cable hole or just the trimatic/4spd one? Did it have factory air? Does it have power steer on the rails or evidence of it? Can you make out any numbers from where the ID plates were? If you can ans |

PAINT: You may be right about the colour I was taking a stab at it being a 74/5 car. Its a lime colour non metallic. The Door paint matches the interior paint but the shell exterior (except manual window wind doors) has been unde

The TH400 speedo cable exits in a 32mm (approx) hole between the centre of the firewall and the brake booster, down towards the seam. There is a little indent there to drill a hole if its not there, the same as where the A/C harness would exit. When a TH4 |

Byron,
Im convinced Its a 4sp Car as there is no isolator switch wire and has the hole for the 4sp reversing switch. There is also evidence of the rat trap being mounted externally on the fire wall. Speedo cable hole identical to the trimatic cars I ha

No. But I should be able to. Leave it with me. We may also need the diff ratio. I know it can be changed, but this is recorded on the microfiche and it may help distinguish between two cars. If the GTS was officially not available in 1976 then it should m |

Byron,
Unfortunately the diff has been taxed and replaced with a Banjo to get it rolling (Screwdrivers replacing bolts through Upper control arms). I would say most of the good parts have be taken to service another vehicle some time ago. I guess someo
