hi all im new to the site so i hope im doing this right.
ive had problems with the enigine running really rough but only when it gets to 80kmh.any where under 80kmh it runs like a dream but at 80kms it feels like its running on 4 cyls and the trany starts banging in and out with the kick down, any ideas before i burn it lol. Brett...

Could be coil breaking down or other ignition fault...check plugs leads and cap..after that its coil and module..so best check the small things first.

Could also be a blocked fuel filter...starving for fuel at higher revs.

Also check for air leaks i

i know its not a vacume leak cos its recently had a new manifold gasket fitted and all the hoses replaced and plugs and leads about 6 mnths ago.
how do i tell if the coil is stuffed and where is the module.

Ignition Coil
To Test Resistance:
@ 20°C
Primary
0.52 to 0.7 Ohms

Ignition Timing (Base)
@ Idle, Vacuum Hoses disconnected
12° BTDC

Distributor Pickup
Should have continuity across terminals.

thx for your input fasteh.
i will check the coil out tomorow and the manifold bolts are fine.
i should also mention that if i keep driving the car while its playing up it will completly die out till out wont drive no more(not stall)and the exhaust will

Years ago My sisters VC ratteled a baffle loose in the exhaust and clogged the exhaust totally with same general faults to your car. I believe this is not an uncommon fault. Just another possibility worth checking out.

if i cant rectify this problem i might consider dropping in a v6 in to it..
the car is too nice to burn...
