hi all im new to the site so i hope im doing this right. ive had problems with the enigine running really rough but only when it gets to 80kmh.any where under 80kmh it runs like a dream but at 80kms it feels like its running on 4 cyls and the trany starts banging in and out with the kick down, any ideas before i burn it lol. Could be coil breaking down or other ignition fault...check plugs leads and cap..after that its coil and module..so best check the small things first.
Could also be a blocked fuel filter...starving for fuel at higher revs.
Also check for air leaks i

i know its not a vacume leak cos its recently had a new manifold gasket fitted and all the hoses replaced and plugs and leads about 6 mnths ago. how do i tell if the coil is stuffed and where is the module.

Borrow a manual for a start.
Ignition Coil To Test Resistance: @ 20°C Primary 0.52 to 0.7 Ohms
Ignition Timing (Base) @ Idle, Vacuum Hoses disconnected 12° BTDC
Distributor Pickup Should have continuity across terminals.

thx for your input fasteh. i will check the coil out tomorow and the manifold bolts are fine. i should also mention that if i keep driving the car while its playing up it will completly die out till out wont drive no more(not stall)and the exhaust will

Years ago My sisters VC ratteled a baffle loose in the exhaust and clogged the exhaust totally with same general faults to your car. I believe this is not an uncommon fault. Just another possibility worth checking out.

if i cant rectify this problem i might consider dropping in a v6 in to it.. the car is too nice to burn...
