Sounds like an SMS?????

If you are trying to say can a VR/VS V8 diff fit in a VQ, or is the handbrake different, then the answer is complicated.

All VQ, VP, VR & VS IRS diff centres will interchange.

The only difference is the ABS sensors fitted

Mick

So the new diff has ABS, and the VQ doesn't?

If that's the case, just bolt it up, no probs at all.

Only swap the centre over - 4 bolts hold it to the K-frame. The hubs, arms, springs & driveshafts stay in the car & you reuse your old ones - so ther

By "centre" are you talking the gears only, or the entire "centre" assembly as a sealed unit?

If it's gears only, then it's a straight swap.

If it's the whole centre assembly, then you must keep the external ABS sensors & tone wheels for ABS.

yeah, i'm talking about changing the entire centre. Will the abs stuff bolt up to the non abs centre? Are those 'gear looking things' part of the drive shafts or part of the centre itself?

Also - to swap the centres should I remove the whole frame from the car or just change the centre in the car?
Thanks, Mark.

You won't be able to easily access the 4 bolts on the top to release it.

I have found you need to lower the K-frame a bit (loosen the front nuts, athough the bushes have a fair bit of play) and remove the rear diff mount to do this.

The "gear lookin
