I used to work for Origin Energy and about 6 years ago they won a multi million dollar contract to install CNG compressors in about 20 service stations in Vic and SA and NSW. The Gov forked out millions to try to kick start CNG as an alternative fuel but

60 to 62 cents is pretty well normal although if it was around 50 a few days earlier you might not agree. I have been using gas since 1988 and for about 95% of the time it has been a few cents under half the price of petrol. Petrol is currently about $1

Hi Guys.

I'm not a government sympathiser but the price of both LPG & petrol fluctuates in price on a daily basis on a weekly cycle. I does is Sydney anyway, but for the life of me I can't see how this can be blamed on the actions of John Howard. The f

I agree Dr Terry, I have no reason to cry about the excise. We have known about this for years. It will still be heaps cheaper than Petrol and clean.
I just got caught out by the sudden rush on the LPG installers. I will be ready for my project to be fit

I suspect there will be some fine print in there somewhere to reduce the takeup rate. I suspect it will be for newer cars only. I cant see the government giving 2 grand for someone with a wornout xb falcon or an old kingswood it just doesnt addup given al

Ive heard that Ford offer factory gas for $1,500 (ie - will cost u 500)

If u fit a cheap system to ur Kingswood for $850, that is all u will get back from the gov.

I think the gov's only capped it at $2k for people with 2nd 2003 model F350's, Lambor

I'm goind to plead ignorant on this one, so can someone answer this question? Is LPG a byproduct of crude oil distillation? Or is it actually out of the ground - I thought gas from the ground was natural gas?

Hi Byron.

The answer is, they're both correct. LPG is both a by-product of petroleum distillation & can also by sourced from natural gas fields.

By the way, CNG (compressed natural gas) is a cleaner, cheaper & more abundant fuel than LPG, but we don

Hi Dave.

I'm not sure that plan will work. My understanding is up to $2000 rebate on systems fitted (not sure about new or used), but the $1000 rebate is on new cars 'factory-fitted' with LPG.

I don't think there is any rebate on the purchase of a 2
