Money in the bank. Convert all whilst cheap, and tax us all later. Smart really. And smart to take advantage of it for the next 5 years.
Personally I'd rather this didn't happen. Means i'll have to wait in line for LPG.

To give 2 grand rebate will mean that LPG will be subject to a large federal tax (I hear 2008?) to get their money back for sure. I reckon LPG will go up to almost petrol price.

Can other oldies like me remember when the govt tried to get everyone to

Current excise on LPG is $0.02cents per litre, whereas unleaded petrol is $0.38cents per litre.

It is estimated that by 2011, the current excise on LPG will increase expotentially, but not to the same excise level as petrol. So that effectively removes

My LPG tank is up for its 10 year inspection on the VN and is booked in for this Friday. It depends on the brand of tank as to the cost of the removal and testing procedure. If you're pulled over by the cops and they find your tank hasn't been restamped

What the government needs to consider is that because gas is a bi product of petrol, there is only so much to go around. If demand outstrippes supply, you know what will happen. Cheers. Glenn

LPG isnt a byproduct of petrol, Im currently sitting here on a rig in the Timor sea 600Km off Darwin, flowing LPG (Propane and Butane mix) Ive had my car on LPG for over 10-years and I've saved a packet and payed for itself many times over. Keep paying $1

Just a quick message for 8P37Q, I've been doing a little research on this whole gas conversion thing and the boys in the know have told me that instead of restamping the tank and paying the 200 to 600 dollars, you are actually better off getting a whole n
