Any body know what this gearbox is? behind 253 in hq
input spline = 10. input groove/ring = 2. output spline = 27.

M21 has 2 grroves on the input shaft.

Cheers mate. I found website last night that said 2 grooves is m20 and 1 groove m21, but that only had production date up to 1974. Is there any numbers that i could check out??

Dunno what the numbers on the box say actually, but that box came out of a 1985 VK V8, which only got the M21 option (or a T5G from HDT), and it definately has the 2.54:1 first gear of the M21 in it!
