Hey guys, Have been having some hassles with my rocker nuts coming loose.
Have solved this now by fitting new nuts, The question is, my book tells me to adjust the rockers to 1/2 to 1 turn past the zero clatter point, but a few guys in the know tell me a 1/4 turn is the best....Which is correct? I currently have them set to 1/2 turn, but still have a misfire, would backing them off to 1/4 turn help?

Hi Les,

I always went ½ a turn past zerolash on my Torries and they all rev'd to 6,300...I think you have another problem (leaking/bent valve or an ignition problem) if you have a miss in your motor.

Cheers...Dave

Hi Les.

You don't need to remove the reluctor plate in an HEI dissy to replace the vacuum advance diaphragm unit.

Just undo the 2 screws holding the diapragm, pull it slightly & 'wriggle' the arm a little & it will come out. There is no circlip or a

Hi Les.

Trust me Les, it will come out.

As you pull out the rod, tilt it up & wriggle it, it is only a peg in a blind hole.

Hi Les,

I'll bow to Terry's much greater experience with HEI dizzys and say "follow his advice".

When you come to wire up your new dizzy, have a look here: http://gallery.oldholden...lue_Electronic_Ignition/
