For anyone who is interested there is an XC Sundowner on Ebay at the moment - quite rusty and requires a bit of hard yakka, but is only at $562.99 at the moment. Is at Secret Harbour in WA (which I think is near Rockingham/Safety Bay (near you Sunny?).

I also have a sundowner xd factory black with special order code was wondering if mine was the only black 1

yes it starts with the jg 47 i knew that bit since i bought it but to no avail in finding others. ive owned it for 14 years its definately a sundowner .i should of checked back here earlier for your reply i am also on some other forums nobody knows stuff

lads for the best info on your own car email FoMoCo with your vin number. i did it with mine and they sent back with the options mine had from factory. as for the other info i will email you when i get on my other computer that has the info on it.

Hi people, I have an XD panelvan here with matching engine and bodytags and strongly suspect its a sundowner chasis no. is JG42XK61549C engine is same numberfirst regd in ausie 1980 and has the 3 tags on strut tower, one with 31 stamped in it the original

normal van .as sundowners only start with jg47 but post piccs always good to see a nice van

Look after these vans boys when you find them as they are extremely rare. I am (shock horror) a Sandman fan that snuck in here to see whats going on, with 2 HQ Sandman vans, one a rare 202 4 speed, a HZ Sandman ute with 63000 original ks on clock in mint

How do you identify a Sundowner?? Sandies have their own unique method, what do we look for in Sundowners and Drifters?

The good old "JG" on the compliance plates, the striping (if it's still there) and the rear spoiler for starters....

JG47 IS A SUNDOWNER VAN. JG42 is a falcon van. JG45 is a falcon 500 van.
J stands for australia. G is assembly plant= broadmeadows.
Valiants p van drifters.is CL5-M-28 for v8 318. CL7-M-28 for 265. the M stands for manual. i dont know the auto, maybe A?

hi i have a xd sundowner that i have been doing up for about 3 years ijust saw a guy on ebay trying to sell a xe sundowner did thay make one just thought i would ask . all so someone stole the back spoiler off my sundowner would anyone know where i could
