I have a 71 HQ coupe and it's receiving a 350 010, turbo 350 and 9 inch. I am wondering what to do with the tailshaft. Will there be one floating around somewhere that will fit? Am i best off just paying for a custom one?

You may be lucky enough to find one in the trading post or similar, but for what you would pay for a s/hand shaft($150-200) you could get a brand new one built for around $350-$400. Then you,ve got the piece of mind of having everything brand new and bala

If you want to modify one, look around for a HQ-WB 1-tonner shaft and get it shortened. The tonner yoke will fit into the TH350 (or at least 99% of them will - see note below) and it uses bigger unis on both ends than a normal Holden V8 tailshaft. Thanks for the help. The 9 inch has the yoke to suit holden uni's... so the tonner tailshaft is looking the goods. Is this the same as a ute tailshaft too?

no ute panno have a shorter tail shaft (6 inches shorter i think)a lot less stocky a lot of the tail shafts i have seen are only skinny and the on my tonner is pretty big in comparsion have u tried greg at classic oz wreck (49594546) he has a pile of them
