Exhaust oxygen sensor, intake air pressure sensor, spark plugs, crappy old fuel, one ignition coil breaking down, loose wire . . . . . . flux capacitor may not be geting the correct gigaherts. Good luck.

An easy test to do is to start and run the car at night with the bonnet open. It needs to be pitch black, no lights at all, but you'll get a good idea if any of the ignition leads or boots are faulty.
Hope this helps.

Hi Matt.

The most common fault on VS V6 is either crook leads or plugs. Go to you Holden dealer & buy genuine leads & fit plugs of your choice (gap them at 1.3mm), then go from there. The electronics on VS are pretty good (much better than VN/VP).
