Hi all,

The ol 250 in the xf is gettin abit tired now days, so i was thinking about doing a convert and fitting a v8. Can anyone suggest a good way to go that requires limited modifications?? Ie 302 or 302efi type or go chev??

Easiest way to go is a windsor 302 motor. You have to remember what ever motor you put in has to comply with the emmissions standards of that model car.

Will a 302 use the existing mounts or would i need to have new mounts welded into position?

Before doing anything ring your local RTA and find out what is involved for you to do a swap.
Each State seems to vary on the rules and regs a bit. It's not as simple as just swapping over engines. You will have to put V8 springs and sway bar in the fr

You also need to change the position where the heater core hoses are at the firewall. They have to move over to the left more to clear the cylinder head
