Hi Dwayne You've probably already checked this but have you eliminated the possibility of a manifold leak?

It will probably be a vacuum leak from the back of the carby or intake manifold. Possibly for the vaccum assisted controls (If xd onwards)or even to the brake booster.

There will be a vacumm hose to a valve setup on the auto, driver side on top at the front. This may have come loose. This helps it shift down. Without it, you'll find you need to get to about 80k's before it will shift into top. I cannot think of anyt |

To help trace exactly where the noise is coming from, grab a length of ordinary garden hose (about 2' or 600 mm should be enough), stick one end in your ear and move the other end around until you find the source of the noise. This also works really we Edited by user Wednesday, 21 March 2007 8:37:15 AM(UTC)
