Hi

Want to remove a grey engine from my fx. The grey is attached to a red gear box using I believe an adapter plate?

What is the easiest way to remove the engine.

Take the engine out with the gear box - ie take both out together as one peice? or undo the gear box bell housing from the engine (leave the gearbox in place) and just remove the Engine only?

I 've read it easiest to take out the gear box and engine as one together.

I am a novice and are about to attempt an engine removal

what is the easiest way for someone learning

thanks

I have no experience with an FX but when ever I've done this sort of job I've taken the box and engine out in one piece, easiest to do by removing the radiator/grill/etc

Taking the box with the engine is the easiest for sure. Can take some shakes of the car to detatch the shaft from the box. Make sure there is some padding for the shaft when she drops. Cheers.
