are relays to the starter supposed to be hot all the time ? mine was and sometimes it would fail to crank the 202 so i disconected it and put the wires back to normal cheers and thanks

Hi john.

The relay should not get hot all the time, it only conducts current when you are cranking. It's probably wired incorrectly.

thanks dr terry but i have wired it every which way and it will only start in one position and stays hot anyway since i disconected the altinator light goes out completely when i start it up cheers
