The temperature gauge on my 82 WB Statesman, blue 308 is not working. How can I test whether the problem is the sender, the guage or the wire connection? I have a feeling its not the gauge, as I replaced the 4 gauge cluster with a set from a wreckers and the problem did not change (doesn't mean the wrecker's gauges were perfect ...)

I'm really interested in the test for the temperature sender. I assume this can be done with a multi-meter, i.e. if it is a resistance / temperature pairing, then what is the resistance when cold and what is hot?

Thanks Mick,

I'll give it a go this weekend. I was hoping it was a simple test.
