Hi, in have a 253 and a set of vn heads i was going to put on. I read in eariler comments that it may lose torque. I also have in my garage a 308 crank. If i built the engine with 253 block 308 crank mild cam and the vn heads with a carby and m20 4 speed. Would i be wasting my time ????????????????? Or just run into too many problems!!!!!!!!!! Thanks

Don't the valves in VN heads and L34valve size heads hit the side/top of the bore in 253?

Although the 253 and 308 cranks have the same stroke and will bolt in to the same block, they are not really interchangable as they are balanced differently due to the different piston weights in the 2 motors.

L34 valves do hit 253 blocks and I suspect VN heads will too.
