I'm in the processes of installing a cleveland 302 from an XD into a 66 XR Falcon. The 302 is running a Carter thermo quad with all the emissions gear, automatic choke etc.
Does anyone know if I ditch all of the emissions gear can I still run the thermo quad.
I'm in Victoria and thanks in advance for any assistance.

Yeah I think that's the thing he blocked. I'm not sure what you have to go through in Vic. Worst comes to worst, have the pollution crap there when you register it. You can either have it hanging there as decorative non functioning or you can just rip

The autochoke works by transfering heat from the exhaust to a heat sensitive switch which turns on, then an eletrically operated switch slowly opens the secondries. If you take off the heater tube from the exhaust to the autochoke, the secondries will Edited by user Tuesday, 1 May 2007 5:59:27 AM(UTC)

Yeah, when I put pacemakers on a P6 LTD of mine, I had the problem of the secondries not opening as well. The choke closes off the back two barrels which is where the secondries are, so when the choke never opens up (ie turns off) airflow is restricted p |

The auto coke setup works really well on the thermoquads, so I would stick with it myself. 648hp Tunnel Rammed 351, It does not get any better |
