ky last post was i put high octane in blue 253 what i meant was i put high ethonol in.always run high octane but with high ethonol motor is running about 10 degrees cooler (bet75-80)otherwise fine.is this a safe temp and is ethenol safe in a blue 253(mildly worked)

ethonol as a rule for older engines is ok. when u get a newer car thats the sticking point comes with voided warranty. but it is harder too kill a older engine, well thats what I think any way so I dont think there would be a problem but I could be wrong.

Ethanol is not necessarily going to work well on a carby engine. You would need to rejet it to work correctly with ethanol fuel. It will run lean if the jets are set to run most efficiently with regular petrol. Injected vehicles with O2 sensors will autom
