Well heres one to throw a spanner in the works. The original muscle car was the 1964 Pontiac GTO. It was defined as amuscle car as it was the first car where a manufacturer fitted a large engine to a small body. Pontiac fitted a 389ci engine to its Tempe

I think the G-Pak and the HQ SS are in...yes they are optioned up base models...but they embodied the muscle car ideals just without the punch under the bonnet, and they are one offs (no HJ SS and no LX G-Pak).

Did I manage to get the HB Torana/Vauxhal

OK guys,

So where does the Aussie made high performance Export cars fit into this, as I havent heard a mention of any of these.
Most, if not all were badged as something other than Holden, ie: Chevrolet, Pontiac. Still were bodies we know as Holdens,

Hi all
My opinion on the muscle car list is to do with pre pollution/power to weight. So it stops at HQ GTS 350 and XA GT 351. I dont think the HQ SS should be amongst it as it was a Belmont with a party dress on. Not knocking the car as it is a classic

Being a Torana lover, it kills me to say this.
But...."Car must be the most powerful in a range and be unique engine just to that car, produced by GM-H. (some may have been contracted by GM-H)", is followed by LX A9X being a confirmed Muscle car.
