Hi all,
Looking at buying a 1978 HZ Statesman, just wondering if the engine number 11qt939584 could be the original motor, any help appreciated.
Thanks
Peter

11QT is the correct engine number prefix for an early HZ Statesman. Check the cast date above the oil pump, should be like 2F8, to see if it is before or close to the cars build date.
If you're not sure how to check the cast date look at this: http://w |
You only have to be in front at the end of the race. |

Well I bought the car, yep the engine is original for that car, so much so that the original sale document confirms it still runs the engine it left the factory with! Happy about that.
