Just wondering if anyone out there has a bit of experience with UHF radios? I fitted a GME Electrophone TX470 to my Statesman yesterday that was a good worker but now transmits OK but won't receive. I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas, the only thing I had to do was make a new connection on the aerial cable for a new plug that goes into the back of the radioset. I hope someone out there can help.

Bye for now

Unfortunately no, however I think it may still be a short in the antenna plug into the back of the unit.

yep it is your common or garden variety CB.
You get fewer idiots on UHF as most use AM or SSB (single side band).
But uhf is clearer but does not have the same range as am/ssb.
There are a lot of repeater aerials along most country roads to help uhf, b
