Swapping from electronic dizzy (std bosch/ford elec dizzy & ecm)
to points on an XC. Is it just a matter of hooking the coil up, setting points and the timing .
Do I have to leave the module plugged in or can I remove the module from the car.

Cheers
Tony

fair enough... the main thing that must be done is that assuming the electronic dizzy was wired up correctly with 12 volts to the coil positive , the voltage will then have to be dropped back down to 9 volts to suit the points dizzy and coil .if this is n

Hmmm this makes me think, lets say you have a motor with an electronic dizzy and something goes wrong with it so a points dizzy is put on, lets say this car is straight gas, and lets say after a while the motor starts running like pure crap, and it is sai

burnt out points could definately cause poor running, especially running on lpg when your ignition system must be kept in a1 condition. But having said that pitted valves would generally cause a lot of backfires, best just to check points, voltage at coil
