does anyone know if there is a difference in the idler arm between manual & power steering in the hk t g range ?

Hi jayHK69.
Yes & no.
The idler arm & support is the same for 6-cyl & 253/308 V8 for both manual & power steer. But the Chev V8s with power steering have different idlers to all others.
So, it depends on which engine you have.

thanks dr terry. i`m confused now, i have hk prem with 307 manual steering, the drag link idler & support match exactly to one i compared from red 6cyl. i then compared this to a power set up i have to go into the car & it is visually exact. does this

Yes, exactly. All the manual steer set-ups are the same, but the Chev power steer idler is unique.
The power steering set-up you have will be off a car that had a Holden motor.

There are 2 different steering boxes used in series HK/T/G. Theres the stock 20:1 box & the quick ratio (16:1) unit used in GTS Monaros (including GTS 327 & 350) & it is also fitted to all power steering cars. Not many people think of thi |
