Hi jayHK69.

Yes & no.

The idler arm & support is the same for 6-cyl & 253/308 V8 for both manual & power steer. But the Chev V8s with power steering have different idlers to all others.

So, it depends on which engine you have.

Hi jayHK69.

Yes, exactly. All the manual steer set-ups are the same, but the Chev power steer idler is unique.

The power steering set-up you have will be off a car that had a Holden motor.

Hi jayHK69.

I've never tried to do that, but the reason they're not the same, is sump clearance. The power steering ram is located in a different spot the clear the Chev sump. To achieve that, the ram bracket and idler support (which bolt together on t

Hi Terry

Does a monaro steering box work with just a manual steering setup and is there any issues I should be aware of?
