V6 or V8.
The V8 number is on the passenger side of the block below No2 spark plug.
V6?

For the V6 its in a similar position, underneath the coil packs, on the side of the block. Info from the VR-VS Ellery book.

Front face of the block, where it's flat, below the level of the water pump, on the passenger side. It's a biatch of a spot to get a good look at.

Hi Guys.
I know I sound a little pedantic on this one, but about 50% of Series 2 VNs also use the early type motor. I so often hear the comment 'it doesn't have a VP type motor so it is a Series 1'.
This is not correct. The Series 2 VN was introdu |

Hi john.
If you can get complete 'runners' cheap, go for it.
These days it costs a fair bit to do a proper rebuild. Assuming the heads get overhauled, it gets bored with new pistons & rings & the crank needs machining you can spend $1500 to $2000 j |

Hi hz dude.
As I said, if the heads need a full overhaul & the crank needs grinding, it will cost $1500 +.
