Guys,

Today i purchased an impulse buy a 307 chev engine.

The engine number starts with 307*****K0926

Engine code at the rear of block is 3914636.

Assuming this is an early block, maybe 60s? It also has a 2 barrell which i found unusual.

Anyway have any idea what it was out of?

Thanks

Jamie

The engine number will tell you which plant it came out of and the number will also tell you about when it was installed in a car. Impossible to tell if it was out of a kingswood, Premier, Monaro or Belmont

Hi Warren,

Could i email you directly with the engine number to dissect?

My email is [email protected]

Just wary posting engine numbers on websites.

Cheers

Hi,
Do you know what 2 barrel carby it is?
I have been trying to find the right 2 barrel for mine & have been told WW Stromberg or a Rochester.

Does anyone know if 2barrel WW's from a 253 fit a standard 2barrel 307 manifold.

Cheers

Found this info a while back , correct me if I'm wrong. 2 bbl Rochester No 7028114. 702 = 1960'S, 8 = 1968, 1 = 2BBL, 1 = Chevrolet, 4 = auto ( even no auto, odd no manual)

Checked out my 307 and the rochester carb which I think is the original is No 7027114 and date coded D 8 which is the 4 month of 1968. This might help you to find the right 2 BBL Rochester Carb.
