i have been told that the master cyl is different on cars with a disc diff compared to a car with a drum diff.is this true or a load of shit.i carn't see them changing the master cyl for a minor change,but i could be wrong.thanks

Yes the master cylinder is different in that it doesn't have a residual line pressure valve in it when used with disc brakes.
You can get the residual line pressure valve removed to convert the master cylinder for use with discs.

can you put a disc diff into a drum car without any probs or is it a must to change the master cyl?thanks for the info too :)

Yes, you can. Just remove the valve otherwise the discs will drag.
Remember the all important handbrake cable too.
I've done the drum --> disc conversion on my XB. My master cyl didn't even have the valve in it. Car may have been a disc b

where is this line valve and how do you remove it?

It's in the port where the brake line screws into the master cylinder.
