Hi ive been trying to get my choke flap out of one carb and put in my carb its a 600 holley. The flap has 3 tags and looks like it slots into a kind of rod. Ive tried pushing on it with screw driver to push tag in but no luck

I dont want to damage the choke .. It doesnt have any screws only tags

Advice appreciated.. the car wont idle while cold so i need a choke
Cheers

Where in NZ are you?

I have the holley 4150 / 4160 rebuild / recon / tweak manual, so could get you the info.

Im in chch. Only 2 probs I have with my carb is to swap the choke over from this one and a leaky accelerator pump so will also swap this one over.

But just dont want to wreak the chock flap by banging it to much so wanted to check how others removed it

The pikkies I have all show screws in the choke flap. Try the Holley website, it usually has basic servicing guides (and they will respond to requests for assistance reasonably rapidly).

I managed to pry the choke up today with a screw driver and it came out. I was a little worried about breaking the castings but nope all good..

Now my next problem the choke didnt fit my other carb ahhh the hole is to small for the rod to go through.

NEXT TIME GET A SMALL FLAT BLADE SCREW DRIVER AND A SMALL HAMMER AND SPREAD THE SHAFT SLIGHTLY BETWEEN THE FLAP AND THE SHAFT THIS WILL RELEIVE THE PRESSURE AND THE FLAP WILL COME OUT ONCE ITS OUT SQUEEZE THE SHAFT BACK TOGETHER AND AND IT WILL ALL BE DON
