hi, i have a hx sandman and last year replaced the engine fan with a pair of thermos, when on a run the engine would get hot and then lose some fluid when the car was stopped. I replaced the thermos with the original fixed fan and have had no trouble since, but can anyone tell me what the difference is between the fixed fan type that i have and the clutch type fans available on the v8 and will it fit directly onto the front of a red 253 and cool properly.
thanks, Ian.

This is how to do this:

Replace the red water pump with a late model one (I think it's WB on but just get one for a VN and it'll be right).
Get a water pump pulley off a vehicle that uses the longer nose pump, again VN-VSIII will do.
Get a HQ-H

Hey Byron, on the subject of overheating engines what would be the ideal space between fan and radiator?

Ive got a car that overheats in traffic and long highway trips, but cools down once the air flow is back.

Thanks
