Hi All Drove my car today for the first time after changing engines and the problem is that it really revs out before the transmission changes from 1st to 2nd, around the 70km mark and then from 2nd to 3rd, around the 110km mark, and was wondering why it is doing this as it was fine before the engine change. Thought it might be not enough tranny fluid but dipstick is showing full. Any thoughts as to what the problem may be, or have i just forgot to hook something back up.
Cheers Shane

Hi Shane.
Make sure you have the modulator connected to a good vacuum source, preferably directly from the inlet manifold itself.
If you already have a vacuum line connected, check to see its not blocked by pulling the hose off at the modulator end, |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

Thanks Dr Terry
I have the vacuum hooked up but I have it going into the base of the carby, would that matter or is it best into the manifold
Cheers Shane

Another wee trick is to check the trans fluid hot with engine running. I got caught out checking it engine off, always heaps (overfull). Then mate pointed out need to have engine running and -Bingo- was only half full. Topped up, and changes much smoot |
