I always thought HQ chev 350 statesman were top spec ( as sent to nz ) but this week on trade me two have been listed , 1 , no air , man windows ? 2 , no air & bench seat ? I have only seen fully loaded ones before ( not that many in nz ) , this means you could realy order any spec that you liked ex aussy , so when you orded a HQ stato in nz , how did you know if it came as a chev or a holden ?

If they were later examples the VIN will have a U for the engine code and L30 will appear on the BODY plate. Earlier examples are not that easy. A TH400 sppedo cable hole and a 1.125" uni on the diff yoke are giveaways.

What example of HQ 350 are you referring to?
There were two types available in NZ - The Australian bodied with twin split front Grilles, and badged as Devilles or the Export Bodied cars, commonly known as South African Chev 350's.
