Hi all.

I have a 308 in my shed but I don't know if it is blue, red or black or what it came out of.

The engine number (found on front right side where head meets the block) 1101908971

I also found numbers just above the water pump 836 or 8E6

Also. How do I know what heads I have? The numbers on the inlet side of the heads are 7292. There are no numbers on the outside of the heads.

regards

Dave

Hi wildshotz

That engine number should read 11QT908971, which is a Red 308 out of an HX Statesman.

The 8E6 date casting is 8th May 1976.

The head casting numbers are under the rocker cover.

Number is probably 11QT908971. Cast date should be around November or December 1977 if you have the engine number right - xxQx908971 belongs in a 12/77 or 1/78 HZ. If the number is right its a HZ Statesman block. Will be TH pattern red motor. EGR port in
