hi just wondering if the powersteer of a 6cyl say VB, VC commodore would go onto a HQ ute as in complete changeover you know plug & play type thing. Any help or sugestions would be appreciated thanks muchly Bye

Hi Guys.
Putting a Commodore rack into an HQ-WB would require some serious mods.
Firstly, in a Commodore the rack is mounted behind the front axle centreline, whereas the HQ-WB steering linkage is in front. If you use a Commodore rack in that spot, |

thanx for the help the only reason i asked the Q was it seems there are far more comms around still to get 1 from to find 1 for a six is a little difficult but i will keep looking and abandon the whole comm idea thanks again.

If youre finding it difficult to find a 6 cyl HQ-WB set-up, then buy the pump & brackets off an early Commodore 6 cyl & then hook it up to a normal HQ-WB box, off a HQ-WB V8 Statesman or similar. Everything |

Geez guys. I wish HK parts were as "rare" as 6cyl Commodores with steer! And HQ-WB power steering setups!

They are fairly common at the wreckers here in Brisbane, how many do you want? You could also use the VK type if you wanted, but might have to have custom pipes made.
A couple ofphone calls to commodore wreckers or specialist holden wreckers should get

If you do get the 6cyl setup as Warren says get the spacers for the pump to bracket AND bracket to engine. Plus get the 3x longer bolts for the engine: 1 x thermostat housing, 1 x waterpump and 1 x RH engine mount. Plus the stay between the pump and the e |
