The wiring harness in the car has a single light tan coloured wire in the engine bay loom. It is just over 1.6 meter long and has a a bullet push on fitting on the end with the clear plastic cover. It looks factory. I cannot find it on any wiring diagram.

Is there a genuine engine bay light that is fitted to the underside of the bonnett?????

Thanks and cheers
Steve

1.6 meters would take it to the front of the engine compartment, can only think of heater fan or brake fail switch that were light tan, but neither of these is 1.6m from their harness connections, does it come in the lighting harness or the engine harness

Hi Warren and thanks for your reply and I was hoping you would have a go at this one.

I have asked several people the same question. The harness I am using came out of a factory optioned HG V8 manual wagon with monaro dash. It is the engine harness an

There was an option for under dash light for Government vehicles only, this might be it, but without seeing it I could not say 100%. They were not available on Monaro so i have not 100% researched them. I would have though they were of the park lights but

Looking agian at your post, the lower second last is for the fan. The one above is blank, and this is where Iwould think the wire might come through.

Hi Warren, the 2nd top, from the right, as you look from the engine side, is the one for the fan motor, well on this car.

The long wire is comming from the one directly underneath.

Again thanks for you efforts in finding out my problem.

cheers
