hi has any one seen a vs v6 running hot the fans dont come on till 3/4 on the gauge, ecu temp sender problem or ecu?????
does the ecu have a memcal like a vn or is it hard programmed to it?
can the ecu be replaced or does it have to be reprogrammed at holden?

VS V6s have a 2-speed fan. Its common for 1 speed to work & the other not. In other words the 1st stage is not working & when it gets extra hot the 2nd stage comes in later.

VS ECUs have a plug-in mem-cal but its probably the most reliabl

hi terry it,s a statesman both fan,s low and hi seem to be working they just come in so hot,i changed thesender for the gauge i remember first vs had a recall for this, i dont have excess to a scanner i,ll see if can get any codes from the light

Have you checked the rest of the cooling system, at about 150,000 kms you may need to replace the water pump.

I would get the engine and radiator power flushed, before flushing use `mukowt` as per instruction and replace the thermostst.my vr has just had this done.
