My VN V6 has just crapped out and I have a HZ ute with SBC that has no trans at the moment. I plan on putting a manual box behind it but just want to get it drivable it at the moment (its already setup for TH400

Does anyone know how much modification is required to Bellhousing of 700R4 to fit chev or if it is possible/other complications?

I am an engineer so can do any modifications myself. If its likely to cost much to fit this auto up, I'll just find another TH400.

can't use the V6 T700. - smaller pattern
you need a 5Lt T700. - which is the V8 chev pattern.

A1 Bogan.
Old holdens brought on the spot, quick decision, cash paid.

Unless your gonna beef up the T700 just dont use it stick with the T400 amd spend the money on that you will end up with an indistructable trans. But just my opinion

Hey mate, you can buy an adaptor plate for the V6 t700 form castlemaine rod shop, but the problem is price as it cost's just under $650. Im looking at buying an adaptor kit for the V6 t700 that i have out back for my 253. But im planning on making the box

Sorry, havent been on for a while. Thanks LPGPIG. thats a lot of money for an adaptor plate, I presume it must have a few other bits with it. I have a spare 454 block and crank (which I presume will be same setup as small block), so i guess I could remove

It'd be easier and cheaper to just buy a VN-VP V8 box. They are only about $500. Will bolt straight up, but the TH400 crossmember ans tailshaft will be wrong. I'd just get another TH400. At least you won't break it.

Ok thanks for your advice. Only reason why I'd consider doing this is because I've been off work for over 3 months from work accident and have no money. There is a TH400 for $400 local which would be good but still dont have $400 at the moment lol
