Im just trying to find out due to the fact that im getting a wb blue block 253 for a really cheep price, and if i wont i can get the compressor for free.

Hi LPGPIG.

You don't mention what model your car is.

The only compressor used for genuine factory-fitted A/C for HQ -WB & VB/VC is the GM A6 (branded either Frigidaire, Delco or Harrison). VH onwards used Sanden compressors.

The GM A6 compressors

Hi LPGPIG.

Retrofitting factory A/C to VB/VC requires some serious surgery. The compressor & brackets are the easy part. New holes need to be cut in the firewall & old ones filled in. Some serious wiring & plumbing is also required.

you MUST get the condenser and in fact the whole setup thoroughly cleaned internally because there can be rust and other crap inside that will destroy the sytem or stop it working. You cannot reuse the drier (the cylinder looking black thing with the wind

Thanks for that mate. Im not planning on using it at the moment. Just wonted to know if it fitted for refrence later on, as i picked it up for nothing. Its another part that cost a bit and is hard to find, and can always come in handy.

Cheers
