hey again all a while back i put up a post about beefing up a 202. thanks to all who replied. i have sourced an electronic dizzy and a set of genie extractors and am about to get a k&n hi flow filter. my question is what would be the best choice of carb for this system. im thinking a 2 barrel most likely so i can get some economy but also have some power when i want it. also wondering what sort of radiator i should get for the car and is upgrading from the standard water pump a good idea? also what is a good choice of mild cam? what should i expect to pay for a set of roller rockers also? any help will be greatly appreciated cheers Stuart Edited by user Wednesday, 28 November 2007 12:29:39 AM(UTC)

If you want some extra poke with nice fuel economy you cant go past a 186S manifold topped with an XE-XF Falcon Weber carby for a nice all round balance. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edited by user Wednesday, 28 November 2007 10:52:43 PM(UTC)

Dont go down the road of 350 HOLLEY. Been there done taht on a 202 HQ LS coupe. could not keep the thing in tune. I believe it has something to do with the spring tensions under the mixture screws.

ok i also thought of the 350 but apparently its extremly expensive to run. my uncle offered me a rebuilt one on a manifold for cheap. whats required to fit it on there other than a manifold? cables etc

What you want is a GTR/186S inlet and WW Stromberg off same. These were standard on some HK-HG so linkages all work OK. Keep looking on Ebay. A 253 red carby will do but will need tuning to suit the 202 (as it was off a 253).
