has anyone considered buying a used fork lift or pallet truck to get under the car to work on ? just an idea cheers

good idea for backyarders and paddock work. May need slippers to extend forks and use acro props for safety.

A 2-pole hoist will set you back about $2000-$2500 installed and certified. 2nd hand of course, 2.5T capacity.

you should NEVER stand under a load suspended by a forklift, you do realise that a 2.5ton fork lift is rated as such with a 600mm load center (600mm forward of the carraige face) the average over all width of a car is say 2.4m so your load center is at 1. |

I agree with the yeti. It is the load centre you need to remember. might be okay to lift a little bit but I wouldnt be going under it without some sort of support. you can usually feel on a forklift when it is getting to heavy if you lift slowly (being an
