Perhaps a HJ bootlid is ligher than a Q?

Hi Adam. This was brought up on Oldholden a while back and I talked to a guy
(John) that has a 3rd 1974 HQ and his boot lid was the same as my SS one.
It was also mentioned by someone else (Rockett)in that thread that there is a
early and a late HQ

HQ SS, are you aware of the early and late HQ gauge styles.
I am also trying to find out if all HQ SS and Sandmans had the standard 120mph speedo or were some released with a GTS 140mph speedo. All the brochures I have or have seen show a standard speed

Are you referring to the early magnetic type gauges verse the thermal gauges
Or the prior to ADR 18 GTS type fuel/oil gauge and a after ADR 18
fuel/oil gauge which are both magnetic type gauges.

I have never noticed the difference before and it has been literally been right in front of
my face.
In my car I have fitted large letter fuel/oil gauge and when I had a problem with the temp/amp
Gauge, I have swapped it for

and they all look the same, But I have not been able to extract my HZ bonnet from the
back of my ute yet to be able to compare it.
Paul
