A mates got a VB v8 he wants to fit the elec dash from a VK calais
The main problem that I can see is that theres no speedo cable like on his old dash
how can we get around this ? the car that had the dash was a trimatic and his is a th400
can the wiring loom from the trimatic be used on the th400 ?
can this be done ?

The VK speed sensor is mounted to the cruise control unit - which sits below the brake booster.
The other side of the cruise control unit is driven via a short speedo cable to the gearbox.

According to the parts manual, a VB TH400 speedo cable is the

^^probably need to keep going!

That will sort out the actual speed sender, but the dash itself needs lots more work.

The VK body & dash harness is very different to a VB, and you cant plug & play bits & pieces of it - your only plug & play solution

wrecking a VK calais so I have all the parts here but sounds like a pain in the ar$e
will try to talk him out of it . but if he wont listen he has all the info to do it

If he has the entire VK there, then I would suggest he do a total loom swapover with everything.

So if you cant talk him out of it, at least make him do a total loom swap.

The hardest parts will be making a mount for the fuse box, and drilling the 6
