Just wondering if anyone has had or heard anything about any 253's with a Pro-Stroke stroker kit in it? Have a 253 already to muck around with and just want something a bit different instead of the good 'ol 308 but still a Holden engine. Any feedback would be great, Cheers.

They dont call them the "Good ol 308" for no reason...
Pick up an extra 50+ cubes before you start spending money.
The ONLY reason to build up a 253 is if your restricted to a racing class with a cubic inch limit. Otherwise you are behind the game b

you could put a 3.48" stroker crank in (same as 355), but if you did that with a 308 you would mae a tonne more power. 355 stroker, with 10:1 compression, crane 288 solid roller cam, big demon carb, single plane manifold, VN heads, and you have yourself d

Ìve always been curious as to why 253 strokers arent more popular.....considering the crank would be taken out to 88mm same as 350 chev...it should be a good balanced engine.I think the fuel consumption of 355s would be a bit heavy. In the end its probabl

I don't think ego has anything to do with it or we would all be running Big Block Chevs.
Has all to do with $$ spent per HP
Cheaper to build a 308 stroker than a 253 stroker that makes less power.
Same as it's cheaper to build a 350 Chev than a 3

more hp doesnt mean its better.....and I said fuel consumption...not to mention tyre consumption........ I also said a better balanced engine.....like a charger which has less power than your 350 but usually blows it away. Bit like the XR6 turbo.....well
