ok I bought this xc and I was told that it has a lsd 9 inch one the reasons for buying the thing. Now I'm not sure that it's limo, the guy told me it's open wheeler now cause the clutches are gone and I'm ok with that BUT I jacked the rear off the ground and turned one wheel and the other one whent opposite in direction I thought they were supposed to go the same way if limo. So the from looking at it the housing is 9 inch. So is it cause the cluthces are gone that it's gone to open wheeler or did I stung?
Any help would be appreciative.

sounds like you were dudded but does it have the sticker or tag on the diff that says lsd/ otherwise you have to pull the centre and see if it has clutches which you would have to do anyway to fix it.

Even a dead LSD will still spin the same way. You have a single wheeler diff without any doubt.

I once bought a car and it had a 9 inch,I was told it was an open centre by the seller, anyway I jacked the car up and spun one wheel in the forward direction and the other wheel either did'nt move or went in the opposite direction.Years later I opened it

I've got a stuffed LSD here and it was brand new 7 years ago. It now spins only 1 wheel and still when turned by hand both wheels go forward. I put in a detroit locker mid 07 due to the LSD not being able to handle the power over a long period of time.

Sorry to get your hopes up, I stand corrected. They both spin in the same direction!
