292 sounds great, but if you were going to do an engine conversion like that, i'd be going with a stroked holden/chev V8.
If nissan motorsport is nismo, then doesn't that make honda motorsport Homo?

Sort of agree, but I was talking about a better alternative to trying to extract bulk power from a 202. The 292 will handle 250hp plus without self destructing, and it makes for an easier gearbox choice which you'd have to change with a turbo 202 anyway. |

i see that Ian King Chevrolet is doing 292 longs for $500 suit reco. the parts would be cheap too i imagine to rebuild it.
i know what you mean about going for a 350 or simular , boom. but it would make good sense in a LC/ LJ, EJ - HR sort of thing t |

Id go for the V8 too normally. But if I decided that a 6cyl was for me AND I wanted serious, reliable grunt the 292 is an obvious choice. A 265 Hemi is probably a better choice but is a lot more work compared to the almost bolt in 292. They are a really g |

really, if you are looking at a six cylinder for reliable grunt, you can't go past the 1JZ/@JZ family of toyota engines, possibly the worlds best factory six, they can make enough power to run tens with the stock internals, and turbocharger.

Personally I'd rather the Nissan engine out of a GTR. But none of those are old school, and again much more difficult to fit than a 292. A Turbo 292 is probably easier than a Turbo 202 as there isn't much bottom end beefing up required and zero mucking ar |

the only bottom end beefing up required is a set of ACL race series pistons, which are common in most rebuilds anyway, but you are right about the conversion part, and gearbox choice. although a supra R154 box, is almost bulletproof behind a 1jz/2jz and t Edited by user Saturday, 9 February 2008 3:41:28 AM(UTC)

Just remember that anything above 200hp out of a 202 is hand grenade territory. You can spend big bucks on customs rods, steel caps etc but that is what im getting at, with a 292 there is no need to. Due to the long stroke there is no need for big revs to |

Hi again, Ill have a look at those links on the 292 thanks Byron. Boom, it most certainly is not going in the Hj, the engine in that is a 355 holden making near enough to 500 ponies, hence the grumpy nature when cruising. The donor car is an EH prem, my
