Gday all ive started another project hq 1 tonner which i hope to have on the road in about 2 months and i have only ever had V8 holden or chev engines in my cars and never had a 6. So with my wife in a 6 cyl and my monaro project an 8, i figured to keep my massive bills down a bit ill go the 6. I wanna build a nice streeter that will be able to keep it with a stock 308 or better and wanna know off you guys whats the way to go. have been told the 186 is smoother and revs better then been told the 202 has more torque. Would like to hear some tested and proven hot sixes you guys may have or had? Triple carbs, hot cams, diferant heads maybe piston compressions? will be to suit premuim unleaded will have a 3.55 diff and running a borg warner 5 speed. cheers dan Edited by user Monday, 11 February 2008 7:29:23 AM(UTC)

Dan
Any of those combos you described will probably use as much fuel as a small V8 and cost more to build. If you want 6cyl power and good economy why not consider an EFI engine (ie VN/VP)? A V8 VN/VP conversion is easier and cheaper but the V6s are ev |

go V8 stroker. 355/383. supposedly use less fuel because of all the usable torque down low. kits are $1950 (355) $2200 (383) from come. (displacements quoted are with a 308/304 block with a 30thou overbore.)
If nissan motorsport is

go straight lpg......high comp motor.. efi manifold from vk..Definitely grab a vk-efi inlet. anything else is very silly on a blue motor on lpg. Simply pluck the injectors, and put some plugs in there, taped ones, or weld the holes black head 40thou..10 Edited by user Monday, 11 February 2008 8:05:20 AM(UTC)

Yes. If not a few days from the USA, or Classic Chev in Sydney. The good thing about the 292 is it bolts straight to a Chev pattern bellhousing. See the recent posts by Greenhj. But the 283 would probably use less fuel. The 292 will kill a 308 in torque, Edited by user Monday, 11 February 2008 8:10:44 AM(UTC)

just go the stroker V8 and tell her that it's more economical because you put a polariser on the windscreen. hehe
If nissan motorsport is nismo, then doesn't that make honda motorsport Homo?

get gas seats or run valve saver there is one in a bottle that fixes to the motor and feeds into inlet manifold http://cgi.ebay.com.au/M...72469QQtcZphotoQQssPageNEdited by user Monday, 11 February 2008 3:28:52 PM(UTC)
